01The challenge

I collaborated with the operator, project manager, and prepress team lead to create colour-matching labels for the 54 foundation shades in the Urban Decay Stay Naked line. Each label had to accurately reflect the shade it represented, ensuring consistency between the product’s packaging and the foundation itself. This required detailed coordination among multiple teams to meet L’Oréal’s quality standards.

02Our solution

To achieve perfect colour matching, we undertook a process of continuous iteration and refinement, working closely with the press operator. After receiving swatches and sample bottles from L’Oréal, we carefully adjusted the colours on the labels to align them as closely as possible with the foundation shades. This required technical precision from our prepress team, working closely with the operator to ensure that printing conditions would produce the desired outcome. We created multiple iterations of the labels, each time refining the colours based on feedback from our cost estimator. Once we were satisfied with the results, we had a representative from L’Oréal review and approve the final colour matches, ensuring that the labels faithfully represented the shades. Through this collaborative and detail-oriented approach, we delivered a solution that met both the client’s expectations and the brand’s high standards.
